Why 1cv.ca?
Not another template shop. One live link for your Canadian résumé — built for people who won't hand their job search to another platform.
Built for Canadian recruiters
Most templates online are generic. 1cv.ca uses a standard Canadian CV structure that hiring managers recognize:
- Clear sections: Summary, Experience, Education, Skills.
- One column, standard headings, no tables or graphics — the structure screening software parses most reliably.
- Copy and formatting guidance that match real Canadian job postings.
Privacy-first by design
You shouldn't have to trade your data for a CV.
- No account, no tracking scripts, no ad pixels.
- Your private edit link stays with you and in your browser.
- Your public CV page only stores the text needed to display your CV – nothing more.
- We don't sell your data, train AI on it, or build advertising profiles about you.
One simple link for your career
Stop sending different PDF versions everywhere.
- Get a short, clean URL like 1cv.ca/jane-doe.
- Add it to your LinkedIn, email signature or job applications.
- Update your CV once – your link always shows the latest version.

Newcomers & immigrants
Look legitimate to Canadian employers fast. Translate your experience into local terms and share one link with employers, recruiters, or settlement agencies.
Quebec & bilingual roles
French or bilingual CVs that match Montréal and francophone Canada — without US-centric templates or privacy trade-offs.
Job seekers across Canada
Send something professional in minutes — a live link, not another PDF lost in someone's inbox.
Clean, professional Canadian-style layout
Your CV uses a simple structure that Canadian recruiters can scan in seconds:
Summary · Experience · Education · Skills
No heavy graphics, no distracting colors, no side columns – just standard section names in one column, which is what both people and screening software read most reliably.
You can show:
- Your summary at the top,
- Your most recent experience first,
- Your education and skills clearly separated.
Your own CV will follow the same clean layout, in English or French, with your information.
Not Canva. Not Indeed. Not a paywall.
You don't win on fancy widgets. You win on a link you control — free, Canadian, and private.
- Canva & Word templates give you a pretty PDF — not a live link that's always up to date.
- Indeed & LinkedIn want an account and your data in their ecosystem — here, you own the URL, no signup.
- Zety, Resume.io & others start free then paywall — 1cv.ca is actually free, no upsell trap.
- Google Docs PDFs look messy in inboxes — share a professional page at 1cv.ca/your-name instead.
Your résumé should open doors for you — not feed someone else's data business or AI model.
ℹ️ Did you know?
CV, résumé… what's the difference?
CV comes from the Latin curriculum vitae. It's now a normal English word.
- In British / European English, people say "CV" almost all the time (for what North Americans call a résumé).
- In Canada and the US, people usually say "résumé" for normal jobs, and "CV" for long academic profiles.
In practice, Canadian recruiters understand both. 1cv.ca uses the word "CV", but everything you create here is fully suited as a Canadian résumé.
