Provide advanced patient care and supervision within an orthopaedic inpatient setting, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and standards of practice. Support post-operative care for patients undergoing orthopaedic procedures (e.g., joint replacement, fracture fixation), including monitoring recovery and identifying complications. Assist with patient mobilization, rehabilitation exercises, and safe transfer techniques in collaboration with physiotherapists and nursing staff. Monitor vital signs, neurovascular status of affected limbs, pain levels, and post-surgical wound condition, escalating concerns promptly to the clinical team. Ensure proper application and maintenance of immobilization devices such as casts, splints, braces, and traction equipment under supervision. Administer or assist with prescribed medications and pain management plans according to scope of practice and hospital policy. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including patient observations, care interventions, and incident reporting. Implement strict infection prevention and control measures in surgical and orthopaedic wards to reduce post-operative complications. Provide emotional support and education to patients and families regarding recovery processes, mobility restrictions, and discharge planning. Supervise junior staff and caregivers, ensuring quality care delivery and adherence to orthopaedic care standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including orthopaedic surgeons, nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
